LO3 Character profile - Paulo Jairo
Paulo Jairo is the second in command to the powerful Camilo Santiago. Paulo has family back in columbia but he hasnt seen them in a long time. He now regards the cartel as his family. He lives in a new a stylish condo. He is very in touch with his columbian heritage. Paulo eats out every day, however he drinks a coffee from his homeland to wake up in the morning. Paulo is single and has no relationships as he is focused on the goal of managing the cartel for Camilo. He sees Camilo as a mother figure. Don and Fredric are considered co workers.
Paulo has risen to second in command through the creativity and brutality of his workings within the cartel. He is known to most people in the underworld as someone to whom you should be respectful to. The nature of his work requires him to be aware of everything that happens within the business. He only recently moved to Miami to assist La Madrina in making the Barranquilla Cartel the biggest in Miami. After being in Miami for a short time he recognized that the police didn't care about the drug trade, in fact they care more about material gain than doing good for the city. So Paulo used this knowledge to corrupt the entirety of the Miami PD's Vice department. After this he started to use the two policemen named Fredric and Don to close down his competitors operations.

LO2 Chosen Idea
The idea i have chosen for my script is the story inspired by Taratinos work, Pulp Fiction. The location is Miami. The Era is the late 1970s. The two main characters Don Milano and Fredric Johnson work for the Miami PD in the vice department. (Vice investigates drug related crimes). The two policemen are corrupt and bust drug dealers for the Miami druglords.
The story starts at the end with a completely unrelated scenario where where we see an unnamed person that we later find out is Jaxson. The story focuses on Don and Fredrics life as cops. Fredric recieves his case file which is a case focused on a drug distributer for the Los Alverez Cartel. They go to see their criminal boss, Paulo Jairo, the 2nd in command of the Barranquila Cartel. Paulo assures Don and Fredric that killing Jaxson and shutting down his operation would benefit both of them and the cartel. Don and Fredric go to Jaxsons hangout and hes not there so they proceed to shutdown Jaxsons operation. They receive information from one of Jaxsons employees that Jaxson left to get ciggerettes. Fredric and Don are distressed at the mess they made of the job so they leave to look for him. Don and Fredric search the nearby stores and theres no trace of Jaxson. As Don and Fredric are driving back to the Police Department they stop at a red light and Jaxson crosses in front of them, Un recognised because of Dons fixation on Jaxson avaitors. The story then follows Jaxson as the cops drive away. Jaxson returns to the warehouse to find a bloodbath where his operation used to be. Jaxson freaks out and runs. The policemen return to the PD get disciplined by their superior for messing up the job. Don and Fredric decide to go see Paulo again to remedy the situation. They are given 12 hours to find Jaxson. Fredric decides that checking motels would be the best thing to do. The story cut to Jaxson getting a room in the Sunset Motel. The story cuts back to Don and Fredric who arrive at Sunset Motel and accidently pass by Jaxson in the hallway, Don is blown away by the sudden popularity of aviator sunglasses. The policemen inquire about Jaxson to the owner of th emotel who throws them out. So in anger they decide they need a burger to calm down so they leave for the Big Kahuna Burger. Jaxson is sat in the Big Kahuna Burger eating whilst sat trying to figure out who is after him. Whilst sat a 66 impala (Fredrics Car) pulls up to the drive thru and orders food. Don sees Jaxson but is unaware of who he is because he is focused on the mirror aviators still, making many statements about the aviators and the guys fashion sense. Jaxson is unaware of the impala, and thinks about his options, he decides that leaving Miami is the best option. The policemen decide that trading the stolen cocaine and money to Paulo for there lives would be the best option. The impala leaves the burger shop. Don and Fredric visit Paulo again, they arrange the trade. Paulo is a scheming against the cops. After the trade is complete Don and Fredric leave. The impala stops at an empty crossing when a motorcycle stops next to them and the rider pulls out a gun and points it at them. The story cuts back to Jaxson who sits down, flicks through a phonebook and calls out on the telephone, the call is to the Plaza Hotel. The end.

LO2 Generating ideas
I believe that my script should be a fictional film screenplay. This narrows down my options quite a lot. I will be using what I learnt from my analysis of film scripts to help create my screenplay.
Idea 1
A Tarantino inspired police drama/thriller/comedy. The story takes place in Miami. Set in the 1970s. The main characters are Don Milano and his partner Fredric Harris. Don and Fredric are policemen in the vice department of the Miami police force.
Idea 2
A screenplay that features the story of the space shuttle Columbia. The genre of this would be drama and action. This script would be based on a true story. It should not only highlight the story of what happened but also highlight the crew and there bravery.
Idea 3
The third idea I had is a story based on the financial crisis of 2007 and the people who caused it. The genre of this is drama/biographical.
